During the time of Lincoln, the republican party was formed for, among other reasons, the purpose of abolition. It was at this juncture that the blacks of America became republicans.  They finally had a white leader willing to fight for their freedom.  Since, the blacks of America have been sold a ‘bill of goods’ which subsequently converted far too many into democrats who are once again enslaved by the same government that they believe is their savior.
