Police Tactics and American Views

I know that some people are saying, “Enough already!  We’ve got it.  The police are the good guys and they have a dangerous job.”  But the American public do not see how easy it is to get killed on a ‘simple call‘.  They don’t connect that danger to police tactics.  Instead, they believe the police are too often being officious.  “Why do you have your hand on your gun?”, a typical remark from someone at a police call.

Watch the following news report and you will get an idea of how easy it is to get killed on the job.  Because this rookie didn’t use good tactics, he allowed a ‘suspect’ to keep his hands in his pockets — where a gun resided.  Unfortunately, it meant the end of the cop’s life.

Islam and The Muslim Brotherhood in America

Although some of the American public are aware that the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) exists within the U.S., no one seems to question ‘why’?

Let’s face it, if for example, Ronald Reagan were currently president of the U.S., do you really believe we’d be seeing photo-ops with MB representatives behind him on TV?  No way!!

However, Obama embraces these people as consultants to him.!?  If he is the brilliant man that his followers say, would he not see through any un-American people behind him?  If actions speak louder than words, what does this tell us?  It should be clear, that he supports the radical Islamic group — the Muslim Brotherhood.

Although there isn’t an outcry for him to make the Whitehouse devoid of these people, much less their consulting, we now have Muslim countries telling us to get them out of our government!!

Please read the following article telling how multiple countries are warning us to change directions — before it is too late.

Toward a Peaceful Revolution

The following text is an excerpt from one of Ron Paul’s newsletters on his website.  The actual commentary is much longer, but his rant goes a little over the top for me.  (However for a libertarian, I guess he’s spot on..?)  The following is more of a prognostication for 2015 on how we will proceed with addressing our current problems here in America.

Toward a Peaceful Revolution

Authoritarianism has overtaken our economic system as the welfare mentality takes over at every level of government. Once the initiation of force by government is accepted by the people, even minimally, it escalates and involves every aspect of society. The only question that remains is just who gets to wield the power to distribute the largess to their friends and chosen beneficiaries. It’s a recipe for steady growth of the government at the expense of liberties, even if official documents and laws written to limit government power are in place. Planting even small seeds of monopoly power in the hands of a few people in government, whether democratically elected or not, will always metastasize like a cancer. This was Jefferson’s concern when he advised that “[t]he tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time.” He believed the people must warn the rulers that taking up arms against the government is legitimate if the government fails to protect the people’s liberty.

This should be a consideration. But if the spirit of liberty is not alive and well in the hearts and minds of the people, violence alone against the government will not be a solution. History has shown that, more often than not, people who rebel against abusive governments, whether run by kings or modern day dictators, do not gain much — overthrowing one dictator and replacing him with another just as bad.

A clear understanding of the nature and source of liberty is required for revolutions to be beneficial. Restraining the few who thrive on the use of force to rule over us is the challenge. Fortunately they are outnumbered by those who would choose liberty yet lack the will to challenge the humanitarian monsters who gain support from naive and apathetic citizens. All positive revolutions must be philosophic in nature to make a difference. Violence alone achieves nothing.

Before we can actually restore our liberties, we most likely will have to become a lot less free and much poorer. This is sad since correct and workable answers are available to us if only the people understood them and demanded liberty and honesty, rather than being dependent on excessive government power and believing the false promises of politicians.

Even with the problems we face today and the bleak outlook for the coming year there’s much to encourage us. During this next year there will be the continuation of many more people recognizing the failure of government to create peace and prosperity. More widespread understanding of this truth is required in order to bring about a successful revolution.

The freedom movement, especially with many young people involved, will grow in numbers and influence.

Current monetary policy and the Federal Reserve will continue to lose credibility, especially with the next bailout. Although “too big to fail” will stay in place, it will further alienate Main Street America causing it to rebel against the system.

The real problem of course is that too many “stupid people” are IN our government and have high visibility on the major TV networks. There will be plenty of people, not officially associated with government, who will rebel against various governments around the world. The sentiments supporting secession, jury nullification, nullification of federal laws by state legislatures, and a drive for more independence from larger governments will continue.

We should not be discouraged. Enlightenment is not nearly as difficult to achieve as it was before the breakthrough with Internet communications occurred.  Besides we must remember that “an idea whose time has come” cannot be stopped by armies, demagogues, politicians, or even Fox News or MSNBC. The time has come for the ideas of liberty to prevail. I smell progress. Let’s make 2015 a fun year for LIBERTY.

U.S. Economic Recovery by County

We listen to the news daily and hear how our economy is recovering fast and that our nation should be booming shortly.  Based on what you ask?  Jobs of course.  Or should I say a smaller number of people unemployed.

The question is, where are all of those jobs coming from?  Could oil drilling have anything to do with it?  Oh yeah.  Check out the chart below showing where the economic growth (recovery) is located in the U.S.  (The darker the color, the greater the growth — i.e., blue.)

(Image via NACo)

Oddly enough that growth just happens to be in the same areas where all of the oil drilling is currently located..?!  Imagine that!?  Now what happens if that growth were killed by a reduction in drilling?  Where would all of the U.S. growth be?!

Lower gasoline prices are nice, but there’s a cost of them being too low.  What I am hearing is that if this reduction in oil pricing continues for longer than six months, there will be a job price to pay for that lower pricing.  What a predicament.!?

Religion of Hate

A good number of things are happening today that I seriously doubt would have happened just a few years ago.  It is easy to categorize many of those actions under one title — evil.  There are just too many things happening today that cannot be explained except for they are almost all motivated by hate.  And hate is within the category of evil.  Evil loves hate.  Love hates evil.

Watch part of the following video and ask yourself, is this not evil?  Is it not motivated by hate?  Yet today our government often refuses to label these actions for what they are — evil perpetrated by hateful Muslims.  It’s all I can do to not hate those who do these things.

Muslim Retaliation.?!

On The Lighter Side

There’s a lot of doom and gloom out there.  (And my guess is you probably think I’ve covered just about all of it.!?!)  But yes, even I go on overload at times!  So, on occasion I insert an article on this blog to lighten things up a bit.  And the following two videos did just the trick for me.  I think no matter how bad things are getting, we still need to take a moment to enjoy a little ‘good feeling’ stuff.

Baby it’s cold outside — A terrific video that will give you a warm fuzzy.

And although it sounds weird, here is my all time favorite ‘commercial’.  Yes, this is a real product you can find on the internet.  It’s a must watch!  :-)

An Explanation for America’s Moral Decay

I accidentally ran across a great video this week which hosts Dennis Prager and Eric Metaxas on the source of trouble for America’s society.  Although this video is rather long, the first 30 minutes represent the majority of the content which you should find very interesting.  The latter part is a Q&A for the two speakers — which is also interesting if you have the time.

Please take a few minutes of your time to understand a simple explanation for how we got here.!?

A Policeman

We are hearing a great deal about police lately.  The vast majority of that news is negative.  Police are brutal killers who have no regard for the public they serve.  They are a good example of a government entity with too much power.

I was prompted to write this article because of a statement made by Glenn Beck today.  He was discussing the man in New York who died as a result of an attempted arrest gone bad over cigarettes.  What bothered me is his view that the police should be prosecuted for manslaughter because of the suspect’s death.  My God, even Beck has his thinking twisted by this society!

The police that were on scene were not regular patrol (as indicated by their not wearing regular uniforms).  They were a special detail assigned to selective enforcement to get vendors off the streets.  Once they initiated the arrest and the suspect said he would not go (after 30+ previous arrests), he chose to fight the police.  Because of his fat ass being out of shape, he had a heart attack.

You must ask what the police should have done once the suspect indicated he would not cooperate.  Should they say, “Oh, excuse us.  We didn’t realize you didn’t want to go.  See ya later.”  The police have an obligation to arrest people who have broken (defied) the law.  If they did not act, how do you think the next criminal would react when faced with an arrest?

Now ask yourself, when was the last time you chose to ‘argue’ with a cop?  Did you ever think it was a good idea to fight a cop?  I doubt it.  So one should ask them self, what kind of person would act/react this way?  Plain and simply…  an idiot criminal.  Manslaughter hell, this is Darwinism plain and simple.

Now, back to reality.  This is just another everyday example of police today facing challenges that are far more frequent than those faced by our predecessors (e.g., me).  It used to be that the public admired police.  But today, sadly, they are not admired at all — even by the ‘good guys‘ in many cases.

To be a cop when I entered an academy, you had to be above average over others who applied — in order to enter and to graduate.  After months of training I was happy to be one of the 52 people who graduated the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department police academy.  To be one of those ‘few‘ people made me proud since our starting class was 156!!

To be accepted to the academy you must first take a written exam to determine your intelligence level.  Then you must take a series of written psychology exams (6-8 hrs).  If you get past that, you take a physical agility test — which is not easy!   Then, if you manage to get by those wickets, you must take an oral exam by short-cropped haircut veterans who ask really hard questions.  When all of the preliminary filtering is done, they do a background check on you back ’20 years’ where you must list every address you have lived at for that length of time!  And believe me, they check every one of the places you have lived and your neighbors and/or landlords.

If fate is with you and you aren’t excluded by minorities or women to keep up quotas, then you get to enter a six to eight month academy.  If you can make it through that, you’ve finished the ‘first phase’ of you filtering process.  Then you are put on field training for six months and you are watched under a microscope for any errors of evidence of bad judgement.  Only then are you put on probation for an additional year.

So what does the public get out of all this filtering?  A comparatively small community which has less than a 1% corruption rate.  How good is that you ask?  Let’s put it this way, pastors of churches do not have as good a record.

Watch the following brief video done by Paul Harvey.  He tells it like it is and what police have to face — daily.  Ask yourself if you believe you could prove to be an exceptional cop..?

Please, pass this on to those who think being a cop is easy…

Especially any criminal friends you might know.?!    :-)
