Social Security — A Problematic ‘Entitlement’ Program

I don’t know about you, but I paid into Social Security for decades — amounting to tens of thousands of dollars over my career(s).  Hence, for some reason, I tend to believe that someone owes me some money back..!?  (Which by the way I am receiving, for now.)  Ah, but it would appear that our government types seem to believe that Social Security is actually an ‘entitlement program‘.

I got on this subject because of someone sending me a ‘chain’ email about how Social Security has been declared an entitlement.  Not to believe what I read immediately, I checked the topic via Google.  Unfortunately I came up with the links below verifying what was said in the email!!

“So why worry”, you ask?  Well, I guess my view is, if the feds wish to make it an entitlement, then I presume they will say at some point, “We don’t owe you anything.  It’s an entitlement!  If you need money old man, get a job!”  Information I’ve found points to around 2033 as the “we’re out of money” year.  Due to the program’s status they may shut down the program.  Or, they may apply a ‘needs’ clause to it and say that I make too much money already — once again, get a job!  Or maybe reduce my check size..?

If you think this is extreme, read some of the links below.  And while you do, consider this, that according to the Social Security department, you need to only have worked 1/4th of your working life (21-62) to apply for and receive checks.  Talk about entitlement?!

The Death Of The American Dream

Yes, more gloom.  But if you read these posts you know they are to inform, not make you feel good.  If you read my article on the media and how it is controlled, then you should question anything that you are told about our economy — it is unsustainable.

Although the story in the link below may seem hard to believe, the author includes a good number of graphs supplied by our federal government which tell a shocking truth — we’re in trouble.

I don’t write this article to scare people, but to warn them — prepare.  How do I prepare you ask?  I have a handful of suggestions.

  1.  Get out of debt — all debt.
  2.  Establish cash saving in your bank.
  3.  Stash some cash outside of the bank (not a savings box).
  4.  Have at least 30 days of food available to you at all times.
  5.  Build up a cadre of friends to establish a support team.

End Of The American Dream

And now today, because of world disorder, we are potentially facing an even worse scenario — world war.  No way you say?  Stay tuned for future reports on the world situation — preferably here and not MSNBC.

The Media in America

Years ago when I was a kid (a lonnnggg time ago), I used to read about the Russians and the things that their people believed about America.  (e.g., Americans eat their young!)  Now today we, the free American public, are being fed garbage that is often just as hard to believe.  (e.g., Radical Islamic terrorists aren’t the problem, it is either ‘lone wolves’ or random violence.)  Every topic seems to be spun to make us believe we are bad, our economy is good, and that the world hates us — for good reason.

One should ask, “Why does this situation exist?”  Primarily, I believe, because our country is being ‘fundamentally transformed’ into a new society.  A society that is weak, segregated and divided (every way possible), without a positive vision, and one where the people of this country have little or no hope for the future.

I recently received an email explaining one possible reason why the media appears so controlled.  At this point one should ask “what ‘is’ the media'”?  Apparently what we believe is strongly connected with what we are ‘told’.  We are ‘fed’ information primarily through the media.  Who are ‘they’?

Today the media is controlled by a handful of companies.  Those companies I have to believe are influenced greatly by our federal government.  If true, then it is reasonable to believe that what we hear to a large extent is ‘propaganda’ — a lot like what the Russians heard during the cold war.

Although what I propose here sounds unlikely, I have included a few links below that spell out who ‘they’ are and how likely the scenario I propose is to exist.  Please just take a minute to glance at these links.  I believe you will be surprised to read what they say…?

After reading these articles ask yourself, “If the loss of such ‘media’ as this blog were gone, would I have any idea of what was really going on in this country?”  FLASH!!  The FCC is going to decide if the entire internet will be controlled by the federal government within days — i.e. this week!!  You had best cross your fingers and hope it is not, because you would then be totally in the dark!!

I would love to hear from any of you who lives outside of America who have experience with this sort of problem currently or in the past.  I really don’t believe that the average American can conceive of such behavior existing in this country.  Please feel free to use the comment link on this page.

Terrorism in San Antonio

The following article is via channel 4 TV.  Jeffrey Addicott, of the Center for Terrorism Law at St. Mary’s University is a terrorism expert here locally.  Based on his observations, he is convinced that terrorist activity is growing in our area and the threat is real.  One can only hope that the local politicians would take some sort of positive action to address this problem now before a lot of people are killed..?

The Growing Threat in San Antonio

As an addendum to this article, I would like to report having attended a day long lecture on terrorism in San Antonio last week.  At that talk Jeff Addicott spoke as well as another professor at a university in New York, and an Israeli military major.  It turned out to be quite the experience.

Professor Addicott reported numerous terrorist incidents in the U.S. and how they have not been addressed as terrorist attacks.  I am sure that the numerous police agencies that were represented there were impressed, to say the least.

However, during lunch he had a guest speaker, a Muslim professor, who spoke on Islam.  In brief, I have never heard so much blatant lying and spinning in an hour talk.  Truly unbelievable!  As just one example, when asked how if Islam is the religion of peace, “why do they perform genital mutilations on women?”  His answer was stunning!!  “That has nothing to do with Islam.  That is a cultural thing.  Even Christians do it all over the world.”  He’s lucky he made it out of that place alive with so many guns present!!?!

The Israeli major was genuinely sincere and honest in his responses and a breath of fresh air after listening to the previous speaker.  One of the key points that he made was that the Jews in Israel are not afraid.  Their army knows they will win any conflict they are thrown into.  Why?  Because they have no alternative but to win!  If they lose they will ALL die!!

I have often wondered who makes up our rules of engagement for U.S. troops??  Crazy stuff!?  But I’m afraid the Israelis have our commanders beat.  If they find a home that is housing arms and they are going to bomb it, ‘they call first’!!!  Yes, they call the residents and tell them to all evacuate before they make a strike on the location.  I find it hard to believe the Jews still exist in Israel!?!  :-)

America — The Land of Opportunity

From all over the world people flock to America for their chance at catching the ‘brass ring’.  And, people within the U.S. come from ‘disadvantaged’ areas to do the same thing.  e.g., Ben Carson

Here’s another example, not quite as flamboyant as Carson, but you can see this guy moving up the food chain with his hard work and tenacity — only in America.  Too bad we have people whining in this country about how they never had a chance!!??  And worse, many are looking for a constant hand-out.

Texas vs. Europe

People have talked about the size of Texas for decades.  (And then Alaska had to go and be bigger!)  Well, to put things into perspective, here is an image of Texas vs. the European countries to give you an idea of what ‘big‘ really is.

Texas vs. Europe

Of even greater import, Texas has created more jobs since 2006 than all of the other 49 states combined!!  That’s not because we’re bigger, but because Texas has a corporate friendly environment.

Now if we could just get those other states to get off of the socialist agenda!!?   :-(
