The Nuclear Deal with Iran by Dennis Prager

Dennis Prager is my hero.  He’s the smartest, informed, common sense person I know.  Anytime he approaches a topic, he always makes sense.  And once again, this brief video of his take on the Iran ‘deal’ makes all the sense in the world…  to me.  What concerns me is that we are repeating bad decisions from the past — again.

In this particular case I sincerely hope he’s wrong…  but I doubt it.

Agenda 21 — Alive and Well ‘In Texas’

Agenda 21 has been around for several years, but the American public to a large degree is still totally unaware of its existence, much less what it stands for.  The American Policy Center was formed to help fight this insidious effort to take over the country.  The Agenda 21 crowd is just another label for the communist party within the U.S.  If you don’t know what this group is or what it stands for, you should watch the short video below presented on Fox news.  Although you may leap to the assumption that they are targeting the leftist states only, you would be surprised that they have made significant headway into TEXAS!  Already, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio (among others) have signed up and implemented the program for their cities!

Our Future Airforce 1 — Trumpette Tour

I am hearing far too many people applauding Donald Trump for his ‘brave’ stance in politics and how he is the one person who will make a difference in this country’s direction.  Apparently the American public is:  a)  All on drugs;  b)  Sound asleep;  c)  Totally deluded;  or  d)  Insane.  My vote goes to ‘D’.  Today’s American citizen is apparently using the same brain as the one who put Obama in office.  They voted for ‘hope and change’ — they got change.  Hope is rapidly waning.  The fundamental transformation of the U.S. is well along.

People have (rightly) worried about our current president attempting a take-over of this country and to declare himself the dictator of American.  (Which he has done to some extent already.)  The majority of Americans see him as an arrogant, dictatorial person who sees himself as a ‘king’ worthy of an opulent lifestyle.  i.e., Vacations worth millions on tax payer’s backs.

Today, those same people are praising Trump and lauding him as the one and only real candidate for president.  One would hope that they would consider his obvious personality traits:  arrogant, opinionated, dictatorial, ruthless, dishonest, wavering in character, and extremely ambitious.  I mean, in the thirties people used to think Mussolini was a swell guy too, but look how that turned out!

If you need further convincing to open your eyes, consider the following video.  Ask yourself, is this the sort of non-Reagan style person you want for your next president..?

Prison Overcrowding — The Problem, and a Solution

For decades the argument has continued that the death penalty does not deter crime.  You would think you could well understand the objective reasoning behind this argument — if you’re dead, it’s over, no more crime.  But the liberal mind cannot seem to grasp such a complex issue.

Please read the following article and then read my potential solution below…

Prison Overcrowding

Years ago I came up with this solution when living in California where the prisons (and county jail) were way over maximum occupancy.  My solution was fairly simple and ‘fair’.  However, again the liberal mindset apparently seeks to reward evil in lieu of being fair.  Heaven forbid real dangerous criminals should be punished…   severely.  Here’s the plan:

When a person is convicted of a crime, they are given a set number of points for their crime (points would be set at a national level).  Once sentenced, they are transported to the appropriate prison where they are processed in as an inmate.  Part of that process is recording their ‘points’.  If they are released and subsequently arrested and convicted of another crime, they are given points for that crime and a percentage of their original points (first crime, etc.) are added on to the last conviction.  Once again they are processed into the prison system.

Key to this process is all prisons are given a maximum point limit.  When that point limit is reached, the highest point holding prisoners are transferred to the prison with available points.  If all prisons are ‘full’, then the person with the highest number of points is ‘processed out’ — feet first.

With this approach we are guaranteed:

  1. The prisons will never be past maximum occupancy;
  2. The worst of the worst will be given the death penalty and never commit another crime and victimize innocent people again;
  3. Prison occupancy probably won’t get close to the maximum because the prisoners will ‘execute’ their own system to insure the point max is never close for the entire prison;
  4. New incoming inmates will be ‘warned’ to never show up again by those with the high point levels to insure the safety of those holding the high levels of points;
  5. Costs for prisons will be reduced due to lower occupancy;
  6. Crime in this country will probably go down — substantially;  and…
  7. Our society may return to a better behavioral system of life in this country.

Many will conceive this as a harsh and unfair system and view the designer as a mad-man.  However, what is more ‘fair’?  To victimize the innocent or the guilty?  Oh, wait a minute.  No one in prison ever did anything wrong.  Right??

Why Our Country is in Trouble

Some things should be obvious — even in today’s society.  We have argued over abortion in this country for decades.  Is it a black and white issue?  In my opinion, no.  But reason and common sense should prevail at some point!!?  I mean really, have we really needed to kill over 60 million infants in the U.S. via abortion since the 70’s.??  Using such an alternative such as abortion could be arguable in extreme cases, but 60M?

So now we’re selling baby parts for experimentation and ‘chop-shops’ are selling those parts for profit.  ‘Shut the front door’!!  Now you’d think we could all get together on this issue, right?  Noop.  Well, at least the ‘conservatives’ would agree right?  Noop.  Hard to believe?  Read the following article on this subject and ask yourself, “Why is our country going to hell?”  This should explain a LOT.

Two GOP Senators Oppose Bill to Defund Planned Parenthood

Do you think that perhaps money is an issue here?  Maybe helps some people make up their minds?  I’m not sure what’s going to turn this ship around, but my guess is it won’t be pretty..?

The Wall Street Titanic and You

So, as Dirty Harry once said, “Do you feel lucky punk?”  Which I believe pretty much sums up our investing in the stock market at this point.  Volatility has been substantial over recent years, but I don’t think we’re done yet with that problem in investing.  Receiving several financial alerts, the drums seem to be telling me that we are headed into choppy waters.  The following is just one example — which is one of the milder ones.  My point being, we should all be cautious with investing currently.

The following article was particularly of interest as the author created some somewhat eye-popping charts worth viewing.

The Wall Street Titanic and You

“I would highlight that equity market valuations at this point generally are quite high.”

—Janet Yellen

Are you worried about the stock market? If you are, you’re in the minority of investors.

Greece… China… don’t worry about it!

At least that seems to be Wall Street’s reaction to what could have been a catastrophic fall of dominoes if the European and Chinese governments hadn’t come to the rescue with another massive monetary intervention.

If you think you’ve heard the last about Greece or a Chinese stock market meltdown, you’re in the majority. Investors are pretty darn confident about the stock market.

The John Hancock Investor Sentiment Index hit +29 in the second quarter, the highest reading since the inception of the index in January of 2011.

However, overconfidence is dangerous and often accompanies market tops.

If you listen to the hear-no-evil cheerleaders on Wall Street and CNBC, you might be inclined to think the bull market will last a couple more decades, but we haven’t had a major correction since 2011, and the Nasdaq hit an all-time high last week.

Investors are so enthusiastic that the exuberance is spilling beyond stock certificates to the high-brow world of collectible art.

Investment gamblers are shopping up art in record droves. In the last major art auction, prices for collectible art reached all-time highs, and somebody with more money than brains paid $32.8 million for an Andy Warhol painting of a $1 bill.

Who says a dollar doesn’t buy what it used to?

I’m not saying that a new bear market will start tomorrow morning, but I’m suggesting that bear markets hurt more and last longer than most investors realize.

The reality is that bear markets historically occur about every four and a half to five years, which means we are overdue. And the average loss during a bear market is a whopping 38%. Ouch!

On average, a bear market lasts about two and a half years… but averages can be misleading.

In the 1973-74 bear market, investors had to wait seven and a half years to get back to even. In the 2000-02 bear market, investors didn’t break even until 2007.

Unless you, too, have drunk the Wall Street Kool Aid, you should have some type of emergency back-up plan for the next bear market. There are three basic options:

Option #1: Do nothing, get clobbered, and wait between two and a half and 10 years to get your money back. Most people think they can ride out bear markets, but the reality is that most investors—professional and individual alike—panic and sell when the pain gets too severe.

Option #2: Have some sort of defensive selling strategy in place to avoid the big downturns. That could be some type of simple moving-average selling discipline or a more complex technical analysis. At minimum, I highly recommend the use of stop losses.

Option #3: Buy some portfolio insurance with put options or inverse ETFs. That’s exactly what my Rational Bear subscribers are doing, and I expect those bear market bets to pay off in a big, big way.

Whether it is next week, next month, or next year—a bear market for US stocks is coming, and I hope you’ll have a strategy in place to protect yourself.

If you’d like to hear what worries me most about the stock market, here is a link to an interview I did last week with old friend and market watchdog Gary Halbert.

Sanctuary Cities — The California Way

The topic of sanctuary cites is a hot topic lately.  (For the moment.)  But California has a plan is somewhat different.  Nawwww.!!?  Get outta here!!?  Yes, they apparently don’t want those cities any longer.  So they plan on making the state one big toilet!!  Read the following links which report what their latest plan is for illegals.

California…   a sad state to be from.!?  Don’t you just wonder what they’ll do next.??!

Religion of Peace

We are often told that Islam is the ‘religion of peace’.  Yet when we watch the news we see things that are pretty gruesome and hard to digest.  Seeing one adult ‘murder’ another is difficult.  But now ISIS wants us to see that future generations of Muslims will be just as vicious as those in the news today.

The following is an article from The Blaze news website.  If this doesn’t convince the American public that we’re dealing with a sick culture, I’m not sure what it will take to open their eyes.!?

The Islamic State group has released one of its more revolting beheading videos to date, primarily because of the shockingly young age of the perpetrator.

In the video, a boy wearing military fatigues and a black scarf around his head stands behind a man who is kneeling on the ground, the pose seen so frequently before an execution begins.

A member of the Islamic State's

An adult jihadist stands by to oversee the child — whose age is unknown — as he carries out the gruesome crime which involves positioning the man on his stomach, beheading him from behind with a small knife, then placing his severed head on top of his lifeless body.

(Photos not included — Child removes head and place it on the back of his victim showing the bloody knife with a cold stare.)

The Islamic State fighter who was seen standing next to the boy declared the group’s greater goal of regional domination in the video, according to a translation from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: “Our goal is not only Palmyra nor Homs or Damascus but our goal in to conquer Bayt al-Maqdes (Jerusalem) and Rome, God willing.”

Note that ‘Rome’ is on their list of locations to conquer.  My guess is it won’t be long before we see serious ‘action’ in Italy.!!?  And great parental guidance by the way…
