I have experienced an eclectic lifestyle with multiple professional careers in my lifetime. Two of my major experiences have been in law enforcement and technology. I spent 30 years with the Los Angeles county sheriff's department in multiple roles from patrol to investigations. My IT career was predominantly functioning as a software engineer writing expert systems augmenting operating systems. In 2012 I retired professionally for the last (?) time. However, I have since joined a fire department and function as a firefighter/EMT lieutenant. (I'm still pushing the envelope.) The main reason I created this blog was to educate the public regarding the threat(s) we face in America -- primarily from socialism and Islamism. I started sharing information 14 years ago and have watched the 'enemy' grow stronger and more successful. I attribute that success to the apathy and ignorance of the American public. Hence my primary motivation for writing these articles -- education. A Policeman

We are hearing a great deal about police lately.  The vast majority of that news is negative.  Police are brutal killers who have no regard for the public they serve.  They are a good example of a government entity with too much power.

I was prompted to write this article because of a statement made by Glenn Beck today.  He was discussing the man in New York who died as a result of an attempted arrest gone bad over cigarettes.  What bothered me is his view that the police should be prosecuted for manslaughter because of the suspect’s death.  My God, even Beck has his thinking twisted by this society!

The police that were on scene were not regular patrol (as indicated by their not wearing regular uniforms).  They were a special detail assigned to selective enforcement to get vendors off the streets.  Once they initiated the arrest and the suspect said he would not go (after 30+ previous arrests), he chose to fight the police.  Because of his fat ass being out of shape, he had a heart attack.

You must ask what the police should have done once the suspect indicated he would not cooperate.  Should they say, “Oh, excuse us.  We didn’t realize you didn’t want to go.  See ya later.”  The police have an obligation to arrest people who have broken (defied) the law.  If they did not act, how do you think the next criminal would react when faced with an arrest?

Now ask yourself, when was the last time you chose to ‘argue’ with a cop?  Did you ever think it was a good idea to fight a cop?  I doubt it.  So one should ask them self, what kind of person would act/react this way?  Plain and simply…  an idiot criminal.  Manslaughter hell, this is Darwinism plain and simple.

Now, back to reality.  This is just another everyday example of police today facing challenges that are far more frequent than those faced by our predecessors (e.g., me).  It used to be that the public admired police.  But today, sadly, they are not admired at all — even by the ‘good guys‘ in many cases.

To be a cop when I entered an academy, you had to be above average over others who applied — in order to enter and to graduate.  After months of training I was happy to be one of the 52 people who graduated the Los Angeles Sheriff’s department police academy.  To be one of those ‘few‘ people made me proud since our starting class was 156!!

To be accepted to the academy you must first take a written exam to determine your intelligence level.  Then you must take a series of written psychology exams (6-8 hrs).  If you get past that, you take a physical agility test — which is not easy!   Then, if you manage to get by those wickets, you must take an oral exam by short-cropped haircut veterans who ask really hard questions.  When all of the preliminary filtering is done, they do a background check on you back ’20 years’ where you must list every address you have lived at for that length of time!  And believe me, they check every one of the places you have lived and your neighbors and/or landlords.

If fate is with you and you aren’t excluded by minorities or women to keep up quotas, then you get to enter a six to eight month academy.  If you can make it through that, you’ve finished the ‘first phase’ of you filtering process.  Then you are put on field training for six months and you are watched under a microscope for any errors of evidence of bad judgement.  Only then are you put on probation for an additional year.

So what does the public get out of all this filtering?  A comparatively small community which has less than a 1% corruption rate.  How good is that you ask?  Let’s put it this way, pastors of churches do not have as good a record.

Watch the following brief video done by Paul Harvey.  He tells it like it is and what police have to face — daily.  Ask yourself if you believe you could prove to be an exceptional cop..?

Paul Harvey

Please, pass this on to those who think being a cop is easy…

Especially any criminal friends you might know.?!    :-)

A Policeman — Part II

As Jack Webb once said, “Just the facts mam.”  Well, the American public often does not let ‘facts’ get in their way.  As most of you have heard, the Ferguson bunch are ready to string up every cop in the country because of a couple of incidents.

To further help clarify the ‘facts’ of the matter, I am including the following relatively brief video which states statistics for 2012 regarding police arrests and use of force.  It may help those who wish to believe to see things as they really are.

Facts About Police Brutality

Please share these numbers with others to help prevent further bloodshed — on both sides.!!

A Policeman — Part III

In the earlier two articles with this same subject line, I tried to explain the difficulty of entering a police department and the filtering process to assure those who protect are a cut above many walking the streets in our cities.  The following video should make it clear what it takes to restrain yourself while trying to maintain order on the streets.  At least watch 60 seconds of this video and ask yourself how long would you restrain yourself in such an environment..?!

San Francisco Demonstration Video

So?  What do you think?  Want to be a cop on our streets today?  No?  Well just imagine what it would be like when/if this country falls apart due to serious economic downturn.!!?  No more throwing street signs — more like grenades!

The World’s Top Ten Threats in 2015

According to the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR), the following are the top ten threats facing the world in 2015.

  1. The intensification of the conflict in Iraq
  2. A large-scale attack on the U.S. homeland or ally
  3. A cyber attack on U.S. critical infrastructure
  4. A severe North Korean crisis
  5. The renewed threat of Israeli military strikes against Iran
  6. An armed confrontation in the South China Sea
  7. The escalation of the Syrian civil war
  8. Rising violence and instability in Afghanistan
  9. Increased fighting in eastern Ukraine
  10. Heightened Israeli-Palestinian tensions

If any of what is forecast becomes real, my best suggestion is to ‘prepare’.

China — The Global Timebomb

I have told people for over 20 years that one day we will see China attack the United States.  Most reply with, “You’re nuts!”  Which, I can understand their sentiment, but have reason behind my thinking.

The typical arguments against such an event occurring are:

  1.    “They depend on us financially via exports.”
  2.    “We are far superior militarily with men and technology.”
  3.     “They have millions of troops, but have no way to get them to us.  They have no white-water ships.”

Admittedly, all of these arguments were true at one time.  However, things have changed, a lot, over the last few decades.  Allow me to explain and share an expert insider’s opinion.

That insider is Bill Gertz who you may have seen recently on TV reporting on a topic in D.C.  As a thirty year journalist and having inside information due to his position, he has a view that most of us do not.

Indulge me briefly to share information relevant to China’s status regarding these arguments.

First, the argument that China depends on us.  True to an extent, but not totally.  Although everything we buy seems to come from China, we are not the only importers of their goods — there is afterall Europe.  A key point to consider is that the world is facing a ‘global economic downturn’ — possibly a depression.  (Europe is facing a depression now.)  When that happens, China will export less, not more.  Consequently their economy will be impacted significantly.

Already their economy is showing signs of slowing down.  Combine that with their ego driven expenditures on crazy building — unoccupied skyscrapers, etc.  — which leads to potential catastrophic economic collapse.  They are blowing their money on those things that they believe will make the party members rich, and their military big.

The point being with the world’s current economic projections, combined with China’s mishandling of funds, they are (as well as other nations) headed for a crash.  When that happens, communist China will do what all communist states do when they are in trouble — point to someone else as the problem.  That target will be America — the shining light of freedom for this world and the arch-enemy of communism.

As for our military superiority, that is true to an extent.  Our troops possess a much higher level of education and are totally voluntary.  Both of these attributes point to our having, pound for pound, better troops and who are self-motivated.  But, to my knowledge their numbers have been dwindling annually ever since Clinton and have taken a nose dive since Obama.  Worse, their morale has been beaten to death with our current commander’s poor leadership and constant demeaning of the military.  Several G.I.s are killed on a military base and he claims it was work-place violence..!?

Our technology is impressive and has been for several years.  However, China’s has not been standing still.  Whereas they had 40’s era nuclear devices in the 90’s, they are now close to what we have and still climbing the technical ladder.  (Their funds into weapons research isn’t limited as ours is today.)  What they can’t invent, they steal.  Missiles are a similar story.  Before the Clinton era, their missiles were only good for a few hundred miles.  Today, they have not only multi-thousand mile capable missiles, but satellites capable of war also.   I won’t belabor this point, but will leave it to Mr. Gertz to clarify.

In the early 90’s China really didn’t have a ‘white-water navy’ either.  Because their navy was so limited, they couldn’t even reasonably attack Taiwan!  (That 300 mile expanse of water is pretty treacherous.)  Today, they now have almost 200 naval ships capable of traveling thousands of miles at sea (and are actively building more and upgrading others).  The last I heard, they owned over 50 submarines of which at least 20 were nuclear Trident class, capable of launching at least eight ICBMs with multi-warheads — that can reach the U.S.

Below I have included a document which is a condensation of Mr. Gertz’s book ‘The China Threat’.  By reading the shorter text (link) below, you will get the gist of the entire book without reading 203 pages of it.  But before you start reading that text, consider this:  his entire book is dedicated to the impact Bill Clinton had on our security and secrets lost while he was in office.  While reading it, try to imagine what the current president has done while in office and how his actions could impact our situation in the future.?!

The China Threat – Excerpts from the titled book

Based partially on the above, I will go so far as to predict that China will potentially attack Taiwan within the next two years.  Why?  For two reasons:  Because I believe that China believes that our country will not have weaker leadership than what we currently have (the next two years).  Therefore their political window may be closed after that and they would have lost a perfect opportunity.  And their big factor is Taiwan keeps a stick in the eye of China by remaining free and prosperous — contrary to the communist mainland.  I assume they are getting very tired of Taiwan’s success.  Go figure.!?

Ask yourself, what would Obama’s response be to Taiwan when they asked for help.??  Do you think he would send multiple carriers to sit off their coast?  Would they fire on the Chinese?  My answers are all ‘no’!!  He’d probably send the Chinese a gift or a thank you note.!!

As a final note:  The Chinese government has gone so far as to state publicly that they are willing to lose 500 million people in a conflict.  (That would leave them with only 700 million!)  Having millions of people living in poverty, that loss would lead to a more functional society in their view — i.e., fewer mouths to feed.  In effect, a war would be a solution to their economical issues.

As they say…   “Time will tell.!?!”

Justice4USA 2014 in Review

WordPress.com is kind enough to create stats for 2014 and generate an annual report for my blog.  If interested, click on the link below to see the activity this blog has received over the last five months (since created).  It’s amazing how far and wide your words can reach..?!

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,600 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 27 trips to carry that many people.

3rd Quarter Economic Signs

The following article came from a newsletter I receive.  What is interesting in it is the author’s breakdown of the wonderful news on how our economy is on fire..?!  Let’s just say that the American public better start paying attention.

According to the newest version of the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), the US economy is smoking hot. The BEA reported that GDP grew at an astonishing 5.0% annualized rate in the third quarter.

5% is BIG number.

The New York Times couldn’t gush enough, given a rare chance to give President Obama an economic pat on the back. “The American economy grew last quarter at its fastest rate in over a decade, providing the strongest evidence to date that the recovery is finally gaining sustained power more than five years after it began.”

Moreover, this is the second revision to the third quarter GDP—1.1 percentage points higher than the first revision—and the strongest rate since the third quarter of 2003.

However, that 5% growth rate isn’t as impressive if you peek below the headline number.

Fun with Numbers #1: The biggest improvement was in the Net Exports category, which increased by 112 basis points. How did they manage that?  There was a downturn in Imports.

Fun with Numbers #2: Of the 5% GDP growth, 0.80% was from government spending, most of which was on national defense. I’m a big believer in a strong national defense, but building bombs, tanks, and jet fighters is not as productive to our economy as bridges, roads, and schools.

Fun with Numbers #3: Almost half of the gain came from Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) and deserves extra scrutiny. Of that 221 bps of PCE spending:

  • Services spending accounts for 115 bps. Of that 115, 15 bps was from nonprofits such as religious groups and charities. The other 100 bps was for household spending on “services.”
  • Of that 100 bps, the two largest categories were Healthcare spending (52 bps) and Financial Services/Insurance (35 bps).

The end result is that 85% of the contribution to GDP from Household Spending on Services came from healthcare and insurance! In short… those are code words for Obamacare!

While the experts on Pennsylvania Avenue and Wall Street were overjoyed, I see just another pile of white-collar manure and nothing to shout about.

Fun with Numbers #4: Lastly, the spending on Goods—the backbone of a health, growing economy—declined by 27 bps.

In a related news, the November durable goods report showed a -0.7% drop in spending, quite the opposite of the positive number that Wall Street was expecting.

Of course, Wall Street doesn’t want little things like facts to get in the way of their year-end bonus. As we close out 2014, the stock market marched higher and ignored things like:

  • The reaction of the bond market to the 5% number. Bonds should have softened in the face of such strong economic numbers, but the “adults” (the bond traders) on Wall Street saw the same manure that I did.
  • If the economy was as healthy as the BEA wants us to believe, the “patience” and “considerable time” promise of the FOMC should soon be broken… right?

I spend most of the year in Asia, including China, and I am seeing the same level of numbers massaging by our government as China’s. In China, the government leaders establish statistical goals and the government bean counters find creative ways to tweak the data to achieve those goals.

Zero interest rates.

24/7 central bank printing.

See-no-evil analysts.

Financial smoke and mirrors.

That’s the financially dangerous world we live in, and I hope that you have some type of strategy in place to deal with the bursting of what’s becoming a very big, debt-fueled bubble.

Well, that gives things a new light!!?

A message from law enforcement

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a cop on the street?  Do you think you would make a good cop?  First, watch the video in this link.  Then continue on reading this article and ask yourself if you would still have this attitude.

The following text was copied from a forum that I am registered with.  That text demonstrates the kind of people that serve and protect our communities.  Although a few lawless and deluded people would ask that police be killed, still our police maintain an attitude of service.

All of us have been shaken by the tragic news that two New York City police officers and a Tarpon Springs, Florida police officer were assassinated by gunmen this past weekend.  I know that each of you shares in the sadness and anger of these horrible incidents; our partners in New York and Florida could have been any of us. They were killed not because of who they were or anything they had done, but because of what they represent.  And I want to speak with you for a moment about that.

Each of us entered into law enforcement and took the oath because we wanted to help others — often people who cannot help themselves.  We knew it would be a dangerous and often thankless job. We knew what happened to Officers Liu, Ramos and Kondek could happen to us; we have seen it happen to our partners too many times before.  However hard we train, however strong our relationship with the community, we wear uniforms and drive marked cars.  The same presence that keeps our community feeling safe places us at constant risk, as you know all too well.  Yet we all pin on the badge each day just the same, without skipping a beat.

As we grieve for our partners in New York and Florida, I remind you to be ever-vigilant, use sound tactics, and back your partners. In spite of the risk and danger, the community rests peacefully because of your courage and dedication, and I thank you for that service.

That is the sort of people we have watching over us.  Are there any bad cops out there?  Yes.  What percentage are there that are proven to be bad police?  Less than 1%!!  Name another profession with that sort of record..?!

It is as the one time chief of police in Los Angeles once said, “We’re always going to have these problems as long as we have to keep hiring police from the human race.”

Leaders to Stand up and speak reason

People are becoming fearful of our future and the direction America is headed.  We look to our leaders to ‘stand up and speak truthfully’.  But all too often we hear nothing but lies — many times what we want to hear.

Listen to this speech given by Charlie Chaplin in a movie created ‘The Great Dictator ‘ October 15th, 1940.  His speech is what we should be hearing today — before we end up a totalitarian state ruled by an oligarchy.

The Great Dictator

Now THAT’S a speech!!  I doubt we’ll hear this kind of speech from our leader over the next two years.

Abortion — A stark reality

This topic is decades old.  However most of us have no idea what an ‘abortion’ really is.  We think that a girl goes into a clinic and a doctor ‘magically’ makes a fetus just disappear!!?  Yes, a fetus.  No, we don’t call them a ‘child’.  That would be too hard to swallow — killing a kid!?

The following videos are presented for you to share with those who may not think that an abortion is really an ugly thing.  Once again, most people think that the ‘non-thing’ inside a woman is not a child and is removed cleanly.  Not true.

This first video is of a news crew watching the second video (below).  By their expressions you can tell that it has a dramatic affect on them.

TV Crew Reaction to Abortion

The link below is the video the TV crew was watching.

WARNING:

This is a VERY graphic video.  However, I really believe that any woman in this country should be required to view it before she can receive an abortion operation.  Here in Texas a woman is currently required to receive a sonogram and view it prior to her abortion operation.  Since that law has been implemented numerous woman have cancelled their operations.  I really think that this video would clear the decks and save thousands of lives per year if shown to pregnant women.  Yes lives.  If that isn’t clear after watching this brief film, you weren’t paying attention.

Created Equal

Please consider sharing this with others as it may impact them and help reduce the number of deaths as a result of abortion.  Over 70 million kids have been killed via abortion since we legalized it in this country alone!
